Women’s Golf Looks to Defend Title at Northern Kentucky Spring Fling

Red Storm will compete in Vero Beach this weekend
QUEENS, N.Y.- The St. John's women's golf team will look to defend its team title at the Northern Kentucky Spring Fling this weekend.
The event will feature an 11-team field alongside- Mercyhurst, Detroit Mercy, Holy Cross, Southern Indiana, Eastern Illinois, the hosts Northern Kentucky, Bucknell, Monmouth Purdue- Fort Wayne and Duquesne.
The three-day, three-round event will begin on Friday at 11:30 a.m. at Sandridge Golf Club in Vero Beach, Fla. Play will start at 11 a.m. on Saturday and 8 a.m. on Sunday.
The Red Storm line-up will feature Kelly Wu, Lily Huynh, Pihla Pennanen, Cathilyn Lee and Laura Mizlerova. Charlotte Roodenburgwill compete as an individual.
Wu captured BIG EAST Player of the Week last Thursday pacing the Johnnies with an 11th place finish at the UNCW River Landing Classic last week. The Red Storm finished 11th as a team in Wallace, N.C.
Last year at the Northern Kentucky Spring Fling, St. John's finished atop the eight-team field as four golfers placed inside the top-20, marking the 26th tournament title for Head Coach Ambry Bishop-Santillo.
