Kelly Wu Named BIG EAST Golfer of the Week

Wu finished 11th at the River Landing Classic this week
NEW YORK– St. John's women's golfer Kelly Wu was named BIG EAST Golfer of the Week, the conference office announced on Thursday afternoon.
Wu earns her second BIG EAST Golfer of the Week award of the season after garnering the honor on Oct. 16. The Auckland, New Zealand native finished in 11th place this past week at the UNCW River Landing Classic in Wallace, N.C.
The senior carded a 10-over, 226, shooting 74-74-78 at the River Landing-River Course. Wu registered a pair of 2-over, 74's on the opening day before tallying a 4-over, 78, to close out the tournament and pace the Johnnies with an 11th place finish.
Through six events, Wu boasts a team-best 75.2 scoring average in 17 rounds played. The veteran has recorded three top-20 finishes and won medalist honors at the UAlbany Great Danes Invitational in early October.
Wu and the Red Storm women's golf team will be back in action on March 13-14 when it looks to defend its team title at the Northern Kentucky Spring Fling in Vero Beach, Fla.
