St. John’s Prepares for Rutgers Invitational

The Red Storm is coming off a team championship at the St. John’s Invitational
QUEENS, N.Y.- After winning its first team title of the 2025-26 campaign, the St. John's women's golf team will return to action this weekend when it competes in the Rutgers Invitational.
The Red Storm will compete in the two-day, three-round event at Rutgers University Golf Course in Piscataway, N.J. The teams will play 36 holes on Saturday, beginning with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. and the final will tee off at the same time on Sunday.
The Johnnies will compete in a 16-team field against- UAlbany, Bucknell, Boston University, Dartmouth, FDU, Georgetown, Iona, Lehigh, Iona, Monmouth, Quinnipiac, Rutgers, Sacred Heart, Seton Hall, St. Francis and Penn.
The St. John's line-up will feature- Lily Huynh, Kelly Wu, Kirsten Lee, Cathilyn Lee and Charlotte Roodenburg. Laura Mizlerova will compete as an individual this weekend.
Earlier this week, St. John's took home the team title at its home tournament at Saint Andrew's Golf Club in Hastings-on-Hudson, N.Y. The Red Storm carded a 62-over, 630, to finish atop the 12-team field in a comeback victory.
The team championship marked the Johnnies' first season and the 27th under the direction of Head Coach Ambry Bishop-Santillo. The Red Storm had five of its seven players place inside the top-16.
Lily Huynh led the charge tying atop the field to claim the individual title. The sophomore turned in back-to-back rounds at 6-over, 77, to finish with a 12-over, 154, and claim the first medalist honor of her collegiate career. The Chatsworth, Calif., native was named BIG EAST Golfer of the Week for the first time in her career on Thursday.
Kirsten Lee is slated in the line-up this weekend after logging a top-five finish at the St. John's Invitational. The freshman shot 2-over, 73, during Tuesday's second round marking the lowest score of the tournament. Senior Kelly Wu has finished top-11 in each of the last three events and leads the team with a 75.7 stroke average.
