St. John’s Closes Out Opening Day at Rutgers Invitational

The Red Storm is tied for eighth place after 36 holes in New Jersey
PISCATAWAY, N.J.- The St. John's women's golf team closed out the opening two rounds at the Rutgers Invitational, sitting tied for eighth in the 16-team field.
The Red Storm shot 62-over, 630, through two rounds at Rutgers University Golf Course in Piscataway, N.J. The Johnnies opened the event a 37-over, 321, before carding a 25-over, 309, in the latter round of the day in the Garden State. St. John's is tied with Bucknell for eighth place on the leaderboard.
Underclassmen Lily Huynh and Kirsten Lee paced the Johnnies with a 12-over, 154, to tie for 19th place through 36 holes. Huynh, the reigning BIG EAST Golfer of the Week, has now tallied four straight rounds of 6-over, 77. Lee carded a 7-over,78, to begin the day and a 5-over, 76, in the penultimate round at Rutgers.
Individual competitor Laura Mizlerova posted consecutive rounds of 7-over, 78, to tie for 24th place in the 88-golfer field on Saturday.
Cathilyn Lee registered a 18-over, 160, and Kelly Wu finished with a 21-over, 163, heading into tomorrow's final round.
Live scoring will be available during tomorrow's final round beginning at 8:30 a.m. on SCOREBOARD.
