Women’s Golf Readies for 2026 BIG EAST Championships

Red Storm will compete in conference tournament on April 25-27
QUEENS, N.Y.– The St. John's women's golf team will prepare for the 2026 BIG EAST Women's Golf Championships presented by JEEP from April 25-27 at Callawassie Island Golf Club in Okatie, S.C.
The Red Storm will begin the conference tournament on Saturday morning at 8 a.m. and will play one round each day. The Johnnies will compete in a seven-team field against six-time reigning champion Xavier, Georgetown, Butler, Seton Hall, Creighton and Providence, who will make its first-ever BIG EAST Tournament appearance.
For the fourth year in a row, the BIG EAST Women's Golf Championships will be streamed on GKLive TV for free. Live scoring will be available throughout the tournament on SCOREBOARD.
The Red Storm line-up will feature- Kelly Wu, Lily Huynh, Pihla Pennanen, Laura Mizlerova, Kirsten Lee and Cathilyn Lee.
St. John's enters the postseason following nine stroke play events during the 2025-26 campaign. The Red Storm recorded a trio of top-three finishes this season, including a team title at the St. John's Invitational and a pair of runner-up finishes at the Northern Kentucky Spring Fling and UAlbany Great Danes Invitational.
The Johnnies finished sixth in last year's BIG EAST Tournament with three golfers placing inside the top-20. The Red Storm have finished in fourth in four of its last six appearances and claimed its lone BIG EAST Championship in 2005, under current Head Coach Ambry Bishop-Santillo.
Wu has paced St. John's during her senior campaign with a 76.0 stroke average heading into the BIG EAST Championships. The Auckland, New Zealand native has placed in the top-11 in three of her last four appearances and claimed medalist honors at the UAlbany Great Danes Invitational in the fall. The senior was twice named BIG EAST Golfer of the Week this season and had her best finish at the conference tournament in 2024, when she placed 15th.
Huynh has strung together a strong sophomore campaign and has finished inside the top-21 in each of her last four tournaments. The Chatsworth, Calif., product claimed the first medalist honor of her collegiate career at the St. John's Invitational on April 7 and went onto be named the BIG EAST Golfer of the Week.
