Lily Huynh Named BIG EAST Golfer of the Week

Huynh captured the individual title at the St. John’s Invitational
NEW YORK- After winning the first individual title of her career earlier this week, St. John's women's golfer Lily Huynhwas named BIG EAST Golfer of the Week, the conference office announced on Thursday afternoon.
Huynh captured medalist honors and led the Red Storm to a team title at the St. John's Invitational on Tuesday at Saint Andrew's Golf Club in Hastings-on-Hudson, N.Y.
The sophomore paced a field of 71 golfers turning in a total score of 12-over, 154, to tie atop the leaderboard with Fairfield's Katelynn Waclawski and Quinnipiac's Natalie Spike. The Chatsworth, Calif., native carded back-to-back rounds of 6-over, 77.
Huynh has logged three consecutive top-15 finishes and ranks second on the team with a 76.9 stroke average. At the St. John's Invitational, she finished top-10 in stroke average on par 3's, 4's and 5's and recorded three birdies and 18 pars over 36 holes.
Huynh and the Red Storm women's golf team will be back in action on Saturday, when it competes at the Rutgers Invitational in Piscataway, N.J. on April 11-12.
