Kylie Lavelle Signs Pro Contract with Helios VS Basket in Switzerland

Lavelle becomes the sixth St. John’s player to sign a pro contract in the last four years
QUEENS, N.Y. – Former St. John's women's basketball forward Kylie Lavelle is set to continue her career in the professional ranks after signing a contract with Helios VS Basket in Switzerland.
Lavelle, who will compete in the Swiss Basketball League Women (SBLW), becomes the sixth former Johnnie over the last four years to begin a professional career overseas. Under the direction of Head Coach Joe Tartamella, 16 former Johnnies have signed professional contracts all over the world, including four WNBA Draft picks.
After spending her first two collegiate seasons at Drexel and Penn State, Lavelle made an immediate impact upon arriving in Queens prior to the 2024-25 campaign. The Moosic, Pa., native provided veteran leadership, appearing in 65 games with 43 starts and guiding the program to a pair of postseason appearances.
During her final season in 2025-26, the senior averaged 4.8 points, 2.9 rebounds and 1.1 assists per game, finishing in double figures four times. Lavelle, who ranked third on the team in blocks per game, registered a career-high six assists against Oklahoma State, matched her career high with four steals against Yale and tied her career best with four blocks against Marquette.
In 2024-25, Lavelle appeared in all 31 games and earned 23 starts, averaging 7.7 points and 3.4 rebounds per contest while leading the team in both field goal percentage (.522) and free throw percentage (.840).
A BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll selection, Lavelle recorded 12 double-digit scoring performances, highlighted by a season-high 23-point outing at Xavier. She also scored in double figures during the BIG EAST Tournament Quarterfinals against UConn.
Prior to arriving at St. John's, Lavelle spent one season apiece at Penn State and Drexel. The forward accumulated 761 points, 357 rebounds and 106 assists while shooting 78% from the foul line over the course of her collegiate career.
