Joseph Dolezal and David Mlynek Named Cobalt Golf All-America Scholars

Red Storm duo honored for exemplary academic and athletic performance
NORMAN, Okla.– St. John's men's golfers Joseph Dolezal and David Mlynek were named NCAA Division I Cobalt Golf All-America Scholars, the Golf Coaches Association of American announced on Monday afternoon.
The Red Storm duo was honored for their athletic an academic performance. In order to qualify for the award, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore in academic and athletic standing, maintain a 3.2 cumulative GPA or higher, compete in at least 50 percent of the team's competitions and record a stroke average below 76.0.
Dolezal delivered a standout sophomore campaign in 2025-26. The Old Westbury, N.Y., native ranked second on the team with a 73.3 stroke average and started all 11 events. He was tabbed BIG EAST Golfer of the Week on Feb. 26 after winning medalist honors at the Gulf Coast Intercollegiate in New Orleans. This summer, the rising junior became the first current St. John's golfer to qualify for the U.S. Amateur Championship since Dylan Crowley and Pat Wilson in 2012. Dolezal will compete against the nation's top amateurs at Philadelphia Country Club and Merion Golf Club on August 10-16. In the classroom, Dolezal has posted a 3.82 GPA while majoring in finance.
Mlynek, the Johnnies longest tenured player earns the honor for the first time in his career. The senior made 10 appearances and recorded a 74.9 stroke average during the 2025-26 campaign. The Prague, Czech Republic native logged a season-best 13thplace finish at the Wykagyl Invitational on Oct. 27-28, 2025. The senior graduated with in May with his degree in finance and a 3.8 cumulative GPA.
The men's golf team registered a 3.77 cumulative team GPA during the 2025-26 academic year under the direction of Head Coach Phil Wildermuth.
