Women’s Basketball Inks All-SEC Selection Ny’Ceara Pryor to 2026-27 Roster

Pryor became the first player in NCAA Division I history to record 2,200 points, 550 assists and 450 steals in her career
QUEENS, N.Y. – The St. John's women's basketball program added one of the nation's most impactful point guards to its 2026-27 roster in Ny'Ceara Pryor, Head Coach Joe Tartamella announced on Saturday.
Pryor put up record numbers throughout her decorated career becoming the first player in NCAA Division I history to record more than 2,200 points, 550 assists and 450 steals at Sacred Heart (2022-25) and Texas A&M (2025-26). The versatile defender sits tied for 13th all-time with 454 career steals.
This past season in College Station, Pryor became the first player this century to average more than 16.0 points, 7.0 assists and 3.5 steals per game in a single-season. The All-SEC Second Team honoree logged 16.3 points, 7.0 assists, 4.1 rebounds and 3.6 steals in 27 starts for the Aggies. The Baltimore native was a Naismith Defensive Player of the Year Semifinalist and became the shortest player ever at 5-foot-3 to be tabbed to the SEC All-Defensive Team. The guard led the nation in points and assists double-doubles with eight and was selected to compete in the 2026 Lily's Women's College All-Star Game.
Before to arriving at Texas A&M, Pryor spent three seasons at Sacred Heart leading the Pioneers to two NCAA Tournament appearances (2023-24). She averaged a staggering 18.6 points, 6.7 rebounds, 4.2 assists and 3.7 steals per game over the three seasons. During that span, the two-time NEC Player of the Year and MAAC Defensive Player of the Year twice led the nation in swipes per game in 2023 and 2025.
Pryor attended Western High School in Baltimore where she won back-to-back regional championships. She joins a talented Red Storm roster that includes a pair of returning All-BIG EAST honorees in Brooke Moore and Sa'Mya Wyatt.
