2018-19
BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Year… became just the third player in program history to receive the accolade, joining Sir’Dominic Pointer (2015) and Mark Jackson (1987)… did a remarkable job of limiting the opposing team’s top scorer… held eventual BIG EAST Player of the Year Markus Howard to 25 points in two regular season games; Howard averaged 25.0 points per game on the campaign… Third Team All-Met... played in all 34 games and made 33 starts… ranked third on the team and seventh in the BIG EAST in steals (1.5 spg)… also led the team in blocked shots (22)… ranked second on the squad and 13th in the conference in assists per game (3.2 apg)… ranked 10th in the conference in assist-to-turnover ratio at 1.5-to-1… one of five Johnnies to average double figures on the year, pouring in 10.4 points on 46.2 percent shooting from the field… ranked third on the team with 5.1 boards per outing… reached double figures 20 times with one 20-point outing against DePaul (Jan. 12)… grabbed a season-high nine rebounds on a pair of occasions, narrowly missing double-doubles against Rutgers (Nov. 16) and Georgetown (Jan. 5).

Played and started in all 33 games for the Red Storm … averaged 12.2 points, 7.1 rebounds, 5.1 assists, and 2.5 steals per game … led the team in each of those last three categories … ranked fifth in the league in rebounding, second in assists, and first in steals … ranked eighth nationally in steals per game (2.48) … the only player in the BIG EAST to rank in the top five in rebounding, assists, and steals … named to the final BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll of the season on March 4… tallied nine double-doubles on the season… came dangerously close to a triple-double on multiple occasions, none more so than his 11-point 11-rebound, nine-assist outing against Saint Joseph’s on Dec. 20… registered 20 double-figure scoring performances and twice cracked the 20-point plateau… poured in a career-high 28 points on 12-of-16 shooting to go along with nine rebounds and six assists at Xavier on Jan. 17… tallied 24 points and 10 rebounds to propel St. John’s past Butler in double overtime at Carnesecca Arena on Feb. 28, playing all 50 minutes in the process… dished out a career-high 10 assists at Seton Hall on New Year’s Eve… tallied 16 points on 5-of-6 shooting, grabbed 10 boards and registered six assists in the Red Storm’s win over Georgetown in the opening game of the BIG EAST Tournament.
