As a junior in 2015-16: Competed in four events in the spring and posted a stroke average of 79.00 ... carded a 13-over 155 for a career-best 14th place finish at the Wildcat Invitational.
As a sophomore in 2014-15: Participated in four tournaments during the fall and recorded a stroke average of 76.92 ... best finish was an 18th place tie at the Homewood/Hilton Airlines & FGCU Classic.
As a freshman in 2013-14: Competed in 11 events for a 77.71 stroke average that includes a 78.00 fall average and 77.53 spring average...was a member of the five-man squad for all seven spring events...carded a career-best 69 in the final round of The Doc Gimmler...best finish was a tie for 18th at the BIG EAST Championship after carding a 76-76-78--230 (+14).
At South Side High School: Played five years of varsity golf including one year as a member of the eighth grade...served as captain from freshman to senior year...led team to four consecutive conference championships, fourth place in the 2013 County Championship, and a tie for fifth in the 2013 State Championship...ranked second in the county his senior year...named All-Conference as an eighth grader for South Side High School...received All-County honors from freshman to senior year...won the Met Junior PGA Championship (2011) and Met PGA Future Series (2012).
Personal: Son of John and Jean Byrne...father, John (1982-1986), and grandfather, Jack (1957-1961), played golf at St. John's...has one sister, Kaitlin...majoring in finance.
