Fall 2007: Sat out the fall after transferring from Oregon.
At Oregon: In his last semester, the spring of 2007, he finished 1-1 in singles action and 0-3 in doubles ... showed consistent singles form in the fall of 2006, going 2-2 ... partnered with Oregon's Mike Myrhed to reach the finals of the Duck Invitational in doubles before falling 8-3 to a strong pair of Johnny Parkes and Mike Bugby of New Mexico ... in 2005-06, he was the most consistent doubles player on Oregon's squad, paired with multiple partners to amass a 12-6 record ... won four out of first seven matches of the year.
Personal: Son of Jose Gustavo Loza and Ma de los Angeles Padilla ... has one sister, Carlota (18) ... majoring in economics.
Off The Court: Loza's hobbies include playing or watching soccer and hanging out with his friends. The most influential people in his athletic career are his parents and his coach back home, Alex LaCruz. He chose to transfer to St. John's because of the environment in and around New York City. He lists Sportscenter as his favorite TV Show and enjoys watching actress Jessica Alba's movies.
