St. John’s Men’s Tennis Announces 2026 Schedule

The 2025 BIG EAST Champions are set to compete in 25 matches across eight states
QUEENS, N.Y. – St. John's Men's Tennis Head Coach Dillon Pottish has announced the program's 2026 spring schedule on Thursday afternoon as it looks to defend its BIG EAST Championship.
Last season, the Johnnies tallied a program-record 25-3 overall record and captured their third BIG EAST Tournament title in the past six years under Pottish and eighth overall. St. John's is slated to compete in 25 dual matches this spring, including five against programs that qualified for the 2025 NCAA Tournament. The Red Storm will host matches at the USTA National Tennis Center and Cunnigham Park.
St. John's will open its 2026 campaign on the road against the 2025 MAAC Champion Quinnipiac in North Haven, Conn. Last season, the Johnnies rolled to a 4–0 victory over the Bobcats at Cunningham Park, highlighted by Adam Groves and Ryota Kaneda's standout doubles performance in a 6–3 win.
Up next, the Red Storm are set to host three matches including a doubleheader at Cunningham Park on Jan. 20, when the squad takes on another MAAC foe in Siena at 11 a.m. and FDU at 2 p.m. After a four-day break, St. John's takes on Drexel on Feb. 4, carrying a seven-match winning streak into the contest against the Dragons.
The Johnnies will then travel upstate to take on Cornell in Ithaca on Feb. 7. On Feb. 18, Pottish's squad will take on Binghamton and LIU in a doubleheader at Cunningham Park in Queens. The four-match home stint will conclude on Feb. 20, when the Johnnies host 2025 Atlantic-10 Champions VCU at 11 a.m.
On Feb. 22, the Red Storm will travel to the City of Brotherly Love for a match-up with Penn at the Hamlin/Hecht Tennis Center. The meeting marks the third contest between the programs since 2020.
Beginning on Feb. 26, St. John's will travel to Cleveland, Ohio, for a three-match road swing, opening the weekend against host Cleveland State. The following day, the Red Storm will partake in its first of five BIG EAST matches against Butler, before closing the trip on Feb. 28 with another league tilt against 2025 BIG EAST Tournament Semifinalist Xavier.
St. John's will then head to the Sunshine State for a pair of matches at the FGCU Tennis Complex. On March 5, the Johnnies will square off with Mercer in the first-ever meeting between the two programs. The following day, the Red Storm will battle Florida Gulf Coast at 5 p.m., marking the first meeting between the two programs in a decade.
The Red Storm will then return to New York to host Creighton in a conference matchup at the USTA National Tennis Center on March 12. In last year's meeting, St. John's edged out the Bluejays 4–3, powered by standout performances from Danilo Raicevic, who cruised to a straight-set win and Adam Groves, who delivered victories in both singles and doubles.
On March 15, the Johnnies will head to Providence for a 10 a.m. matchup with Brown. Last spring, St. John's rolled past the Bears at Cunningham Park with a dominant 6–1 victory INSERT DATE.
In its final home match of the season, St. John's will host Monmouth on March 17. In last year's win over the Hawks, Armando Sotelo clinched the match alongside Max Amling, earning a 6–4 victory in doubles play.
The Red Storm then will travel to New Haven, Conn., for a March 21 matchup with Yale, marking the fifth straight season the two programs will meet.
A week later, the Johnnies will head to the Lone Star State for two matches in Arlington, Texas. On March 28, Pottish's squad will face UT Arlington at 11 a.m. in the programs' first-ever meeting. The next day, St. John's takes on the 2025 NCAA Tournament Finalist, TCU, in a 1 p.m. showdown.
To open the month of April, the Red Storm travels to the nation's capital to face Georgetown on April 1. St. John's met the Hoyas twice last spring, earning a clean sweep with a 4–0 shutout in West Point before securing a 4–1 win in the BIG EAST Tournament in the semifinals.
On April 3, the Red Storm head to the Bronx for a doubleheader against familiar New York foes Hofstra and Fordham. Both matches are slated for the Hawthorn/Rooney Tennis Courts, with start times to be announced at a later date.
After a short three-day break, the Johnnies will return to action on April 7 for another doubleheader in Villanova, Pa. The Red Storm will take on NJIT and then Villanova at the Wildcats' tennis complex
To close out the 2026 regular season, the Red Storm will travel to Camden, S.C., for a matchup with Elon, marking just the second-ever meeting between the Johnnies and the Phoenix.
