Alysha Giarra, a 2010 graduate of Elmira College, joins Coach Joe Tartamella's staff as a graduate assistant for the 2014-15 campaign.
Giarra arrives in the Big Apple after serving as a physical therapist assistant for the last three years in Wayne, N.J., where she assisted physical therapists in their daily activities, including but not limited to, preparing and explaining exercises to patients, scheduling appointments and performing clerical tasks.
No stranger to St. John's, Giarra served as the head counselor at the university's women's basketball camp in July of 2009.
While at Elmira, Giarra also found time for charitable causes, serving as an officer in the school's Relay for Life chapter.
The Ridgefield Park, N.J., native graduated from Elmira in the Spring of 2010 with dual BA's, the first in childhood education and the second in anthropology and sociology
