- Title:
- Graduate Assistant
Caysea Cohen joined the St. John’s women’s golf team as a graduate assistant in fall of 2017 and is working toward a masters in sport management while assisting with the Johnnies.
Starting golf at the age of 13, Cohen has actively played since then. While attending Ward Melville high school, Cohen placed in the county during her junior (ninth) and senior (fifth) years to qualify twice for the New York Girls Golf State tournament.
“I have a very strong passion for golf” Cohen said. “When this graduate assistant opportunity presented itself I was very excited. I figured I would be able to put my knowledge of the game and past experiences to use. I was once in their shoes and I am honored to have a role with the women’s golf program.”
The Stony Brook native received her undergraduate degree in sociology at SUNY Cortland where she was a student athlete. Cohen was part of the golf team for a year and played basketball all four years, recording an impressive 1,000 career points to receive all-conference honors both as a junior and senior.
