ST. JOHN'S DROPS OVERTIME THRILLER TO SYRACUSE

Syracuse, N.Y. (September 29, 2000) - The St. John's women's soccer team lost a thriller to the Orangewomen of Syracuse 1-0 in overtime on a goal by Erin O'Grady. O'Grady beat Jen Frankel (Mount Laurel, NJ) with 2:39 gone in the first overtime to net the game-winner.

Frankel was superb stopping 13 shots in regulation to thwart every offensive charge Syracuse threw at her. The loss dropped the Red Storm to 7-5 overall and 0-3 in the BIG EAST Northeast Division.

Last season freshman goalkeeper Tina Fogg was the star in a 0-0 double-overtime tie at DaSilva Memorial Field versus Syracuse. The Orangewomen are now 8-4 and 2-1 in conference play.

St. John's returns to the field on Sunday, October 1 at 1:00 p.m. to play Providence on the road in BIG EAST action.
