WOMEN'S SOCCER EARNS POSTSEASON BID

The University of Pennsylvania (8-8-1) was named the second seed, followed by host school Northeastern (11-6-1) and Lafayette (11-7-0). The Red Storm will face Lafayette in the semi-finals on Saturday, November 11 at 11:00 a.m. The championship game will take place Sunday, November 12 at 1:00.
This is the third time in four years that the Red Storm has been invited to participate in the ECAC Tournament. They made their first appearance on November 13, 1997 when they fell to Army, 2-0.
Last year, St. Johns entered the tournament as the #4 seed and advanced to the Championship game. They fell to Villanova, 1-0. They defeated #1 seed Yale University, 2-0, to get to the tournament finals. The Red Storm is 3-2 in postseason play.
The Red Storm is coming off an outstanding season, which saw the team compile a 11-8-0 mark (1-4-0 BIG EAST), tallying 133 points by netting 40 goals on 53 assists. They have registered the most points among all St. Johns womens soccer squads in program history. For the second straight year, they closed out the regular season defeating all non-conference opponents.
