Kurasaki, Roudovski Earn All-Northeast Region Honors

Kurasaki earns the honor just three weeks after being named the BIG EAST Rookie of the Year at the conferences tournament banquet. Kurasaki, who led the Storm to a 25-8 overall record, arguably their best season in the programs seven-year history, was also named BIG EAST Rookie of the Week four times during the season. She tallied 1,370 assists on the season, and was ranked fifth in the conference with an 11.61 assists/game average. Kurasaki also broke the school record for assists in a match with 83 in a five-game victory over Syracuse on October 29, and was named to three all-tournament teams on the season. She is the first St. Johns player ever to be named Northeast Region Freshman of the Year.
Roudovski is the first St. Johns volleyball player ever to earn all-region recognition. The senior co-captain capped a phenomenal career by becoming the first St. Johns player ever to earn first team all-BIG EAST conference honors. Roudovski, who led the BIG EAST in kills per game with 4.78, leaves St. Johns as the all-time leader in kills with 1,541. In the last match of her outstanding career, Roudovski broke the BIG EAST record for kills in a single season with 554. She also broke the school record for kills in a match with 39 in a five-game victory over West Virginia on October 20.
The other members of the all-Northeast Region team are Sara Bachus of Xavier University; Denise Boylan, Christi Girton and Kristy Kreher of the University of Notre Dame; Kera Carter of Rutgers University; Katie Ferriell and Carla Muntz of the University of Dayton; Rebecca Hasson of the University of Massachusetts; Alma Kovaci of Temple University; Carrie Norris of the University of Pittsburgh; and Stefanie Rewitz of Hofstra University.
