Bilezikjian Named to the Verizon Academic All-American First Team

B ilezikjian earned a bachelors of arts in education, maintaining a 3.89 grade point average, while posting a perfect 4.0 in four of his last seven semesters.
Bilezikjian enjoyed success on the field, finishing the season batting .347 (61-for-176), which ranked second on the team, while leading the team in eight different offensive categories. One of the teams senior captains, Bilezikjian led the team in runs scored (49), triples (3), home runs (11), RBI (49), total bases (114), slugging percentage (.648), walks (50), and on-base percentage (.494). In addition, he finished second on the team in hits (61), doubles (14) and in stolen bases (15). In conference games, Bilezikjian was walked 30 times, setting a new conference record.
Bilezikjian graduates from St. Johns ranking among the top-10 in 11 different offensive categories. A career .340 hitter, he ranks third all-time in hits (232), eighth in at-bats (683), third in runs scored (172), tied for fifth in home runs (17), fourth in runs batted in (140), second in doubles (50), sixth in games played (193), tied for sixth in stolen bases (69), fifth in stolen base percentage (.841), fourth in walks (122) and second in total bases (353).
Bilezikjian, who was a 10th round draft choice of the Atlanta Braves in 1999, could be a selection in this years Major League Draft, which is scheduled to begin on June 5.
