St. Johns Tops Marist, 3-0

Jamaica, N.Y.- The St. Johns volleyball team defeated Marist College, 3-0 (30-11, 30-20, 30-14) tonight in a match played at the McCann Center in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. The Red Storm improve their record to 5-5 on the young season.
St. Johns was led on offense by senior Sarah McCrary (Walnut, Calif.) who recorded 14 kills on 23 attacks for a .565 hitting percentage and eight service aces. Freshman Jackie Ahlers (Stony Point, N.Y.) added 11 kills on 29 attempts while junior Robyn Kurasaki (Milliani, Hawaii) tallied 36 assists. Senior Meaghan Creedon (Rohnert Park, Calif.) recorded seven kills on 10 attempts for a .600 hitting percentage.
On defense, McCrary and Ahlers led the way with nine digs apiece, while senior Rosalyn Dang (Honolulu, Hawaii) contributed with six digs and one block assist.
The Red Storm return to action tomorrow night when they travel to New Jersey to play Princeton. Game time is scheduled for 8:00 p.m.
