Red Storm Top Old Dominion, 4-3 in OT

Schmidt, who finished the night with six points, put the Red Storm on the board first, notching a goal at 18:30. From the left side of the box, Schmidt sent her shot to the upper right corner of the net.
Old Dominion responded with its own goal, just 1:33 later. Laura Beeman pushed a shot through traffic and past the Red Storm defense from in front of the box.
At 24:54, ODU took a 2-1 lead on a goal by Heather Vaughn, who scored off a free kick by Sarah Raible.
Nearing the end of the first half, Schmidt added her second goal of the night on a long pass up the left side from senior Jen Taylor (South Hempstead, N.Y.). Schmidt dribbled around a Monarch defender for a one-on-one with the goalie.
Reina, who had four points in the game, scored the Red Storms go-ahead goal at 57:23. In the center of the box about four yards out, Schmidt set Reina up for the shot.
With under eight minutes remaining, Old Dominions Ashley Kramer scored off a pass from Beeman in front of the goal to tie the game at 3-all, sending the match to overtime.
Red Storm senior goalkeeper Tina Fogg (Warwick, R.I.) (3-0-2) made one save in the game to earn her 25th career victory. In the last two matches, the Red Storm defense has allowed just one shot on goal.
The Red Storm return to action on Sunday, September 15 at 1pm when they face Boston University in day two of the Rutgers DoubleTree Classic.
