The Red Storm welcome two transfers from the nationally ranked University of South Alabama, David Nylen and Aurelio Di Zazzo, to a squad that includes five returnees. Sophomores Morgan Bauer and Nick Stocker return, having led the Red Storm in singles wins last spring with 15 and 14, respectively, while juniors Todd Goldberg and Boris Chiporukha and sophomore Jonathan Skinner come back after playing key roles on last season's team.
During the fall season, the Red Storm participated in four individual tournaments, having come home with two singles titles. Stocker led the team with an 11-4 singles record, including a win at the Scott Satran Memorial Tournament and a semifinal appearance at the Farnsworth Invitational. Nylen got the Red Storm's fall off to a strong start having won the Farnsworth Flight "B" draw on his way to an 8-3 mark. Bauer and Di Zazzo combined for 13 wins, with Bauer winning the consolation draw of the Farnsworth Flight "B" bracket and moving to the semifinals of the Scott Satran Memorial Tournament, a tournament that Di Zazzo lost in the finals.
In doubles, the Red Storm will continue to mix and match doubles partners in order to find the right mix. In the Penn Classic to close out the 2003 fall season, the team of Bauer and Nylen combined to advance to the quarterfinals, the best finish for a Red Storm doubles team this fall.
