Fitzgerald Named BIG EAST Pitcher Of The Week

In a game against No. 13 ranked DePaul University, the left-hander was nearly unhittable as she went seven innings for the Red Storm, shutting out the Blue Demons, giving up just three hits, with one strikeout. She also had another big win in an eight-inning thriller against tournament host Fresno State, as she went the distance allowing no runs on two hits. Fitzgerald currently has a streak of 22.1 innings pitched where she has not allowed an earned run.
On the season, she is 8-7 with a 1.67 ERA and 58 strikeouts over 100.1 innings of work.
The St. Johns softball team returns to action on Friday, March 14, when they travel to South Carolina to begin play in the Winthrop Invitational Tournament beginning at 10 a.m.
