Queens, NY - The St. John's women's basketball team reached another plateau today, as the team received a vote in both the Associated Press and the USA Today/ESPN/WBCA Coaches Polls. Earning the votes places the Red Storm among the top-44 teams in the nation, with the BIG EAST season around the corner.
Notre Dame is the top BIG EAST school in both polls, earning the No. 4 spot on the ESPN/USA Today/WBCA poll and the No. 6 spot on the AP poll, and headlines six member schools on the polls. Connecticut and Boston College sit among the top-25 on both, while Rutgers is No. 24 on the AP poll and received votes on the other. West Virginia also received votes in both polls.
At 10-0, the Red Storm are off to their best start in school history and remain one of only six teams still undefeated in the nation. The team will host Holy Cross on Thursday in its final non-conference match-up of the season and will kickoff BIG EAST conference action on Sunday when the Red Storm host Connecticut, who is ranked No. 11 in both polls.
