Women's Golf Finishes Sixth at Yale Intercollegiate

St. John's women's golf team took sixth place at the Yale Intercollegiate Invitational in New Haven, Conn. this past weekend. The team finished with a score of 640 coming in three strokes over a three way tie for third. It is the second sixth place finish for the Red Storm in its third invitational of the fall season.
For the third straight weekend, senior Christin Thomson was a top finisher for St. John's. Locked in a three way tie for ninth, Thomson and fellow senior Maggie Steciuk came in 15 over par on the par 70 course. Both ladies faired better in the first round of play recording a 74 and 73, respectively.
Sophomore Brittany Lambertson came in 18th behind a six way tie for 12th. Shooting nine over par in both rounds, Lambertson worked her way to her third consecutive top 20 finish.
The Red Storm is headed to the Legends Shootout on Oct. 11-12 in Franklin, Ind. for the final fall invitational of the season.
