Queens, NY - St. John's University softball junior Jo Sherlock (San Diego, CA) was named to the 2005 National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-Mid Atlantic Region Second Team this afternoon, as voted on by the region's head coaches. Sherlock earns regional recognition for the second straight season, as she was named to the first team last season.
This season, Sherlock led the team with eight home runs and 38 runs batted in, while finishing second with a .301 batting average and 11 doubles. She also posted a team-best .556 slugging percentage, while tying for the team-lead with three triples. In the field, she committed only two errors and had three outfield assists, while splitting time between center and left field.
Sherlock is also currently the school's career leader in home runs with 27 and doubles with 41. With a healthy senior season, she will be atop almost every offensive statistical category.
