Queens, NY - The St. John's women's soccer team topped Brown University and Boston University at Brown's Spring Tournament this weekend to end an outstanding off-season by the Red Storm.
In the first game, Erin Bohn tallied the Red Storm's first goal off of an assist from Holly Ryder. The Bears would tie the game at one, but Ryder came back to score the game-winner for the Red Storm.
Laura Burlacu carried the ball into the penalty area and was fouled, resulting in a penalty kick for the Red Storm. Ryder lined up for the shot and sent it into the back of the net to lift St. John's to the 2-1 victory.
In game two, Krystle Jalalian scored the game's lone goal off an assist from Burlacu, leading St. John's to the 1-0 victory.
The Red Storm kick off the 2005 championship season on August 26 when they host Marist at Belson Stadium.
