BIG EAST Invites Fans To Help Name Soccer Divisions

PROVIDENCE, RI - The BIG EAST conference, home to the men's and women's soccer teams of St. John's University, is asking fans to submit their ideas for divisional names. The BIG EAST became the largest Division I soccer conference league in the country with the addition of five new members in 2005, and due to the large makeup of the conference, the teams have been split into two divisions, made up of eight teams each. The conference will take the responses and open voting to the public. An announcement on the new division names will be made at the men's and women's soccer championships in November.
The men's divisions are as follows:
Blue Division: Connecticut, Georgetown, Marquette, Notre Dame, Providence, Pittsburgh, Seton Hall and West Virginia.
Red Division: Cincinnati, DePaul, Louisville, Rutgers, St. John's, USF, Syracuse and Villanova.

Please submit your ideas for the men's and women's soccer divisional names by Friday, September 30. The BIG EAST will take your responses and allow you to vote through the month of October. Following the voting, the league will make an announcement at the men's and women's soccer championships in November.
