The Red Storm and the Blue Demons are tied 6-6-1 in the all-time series
QUEENS, N.Y. – The St. John's women's soccer team will close out its road schedule at DePaul on Saturday afternoon.
Kick-off is set for 2 p.m. at Wish Field in Chicago, Ill. Fans can tune into the contest on ESPN+.
The St. John's women's soccer team will look to close out the road schedule on a high note, facing DePaul following a narrow 1-0 setback to Xavier on Oct. 24. The Red Storm (3-9-4, 0-5-3 BIG EAST) held the Musketeers scoreless for more than 87 minutes before conceding the deciding goal in the 88th minute. Kayla Bower made three saves in the contest, including consecutive stops in the second half, while Nora Basile and Taryn Madsen helped generate offensive opportunities for the Johnnies.
St. John's has maintained a strong defensive foundation throughout the season, recording six shutouts and allowing just 16 goals through 16 matches. The Red Storm ranks fifth in the BIG EAST with a 1.00 goals-against average, while holding UConn, Creighton and Butler scoreless in consecutive conference contests. Julianna Bivona has been a mainstay on the back line, starting all 16 matches and playing 1,440 minutes this season.
Bower has anchored the defensive effort, establishing a new single-season career high with six shutouts while collecting 58 saves through 16 starts. The Lincoln Park, N.J., native ranks fourth in the BIG EAST and 58th nationally in clean sheets, while sitting third in the conference in total saves. The graduate student also leads the league with 1,428:57 minutes in goal, posting a 1.01 goals-against average and a .784 save percentage. Across 46 career appearances, Bower has accumulated 179 saves and 10 solo shutouts in more than 3,500 minutes for the Red Storm.
The Johnnies have generated 73 of their 124 shots after halftime, accounting for nearly 59% of their offensive opportunities, while five of their eight goals have come in the second half. The trend has carried into BIG EAST play, where St. John's has recorded 28 of its 46 attempts after the break. Defensively, the Red Storm has held opponents to one goal or fewer in 11 of its 16 matches, including three scoreless draws against conference opponents. St. John's will look to pair that defensive consistency with increased offensive production as it seeks its first BIG EAST victory against DePaul.
St. John's and DePaul will meet for the 14th time, with the all-time series tied at 6-6-1. The Red Storm has found success in Queens, boasting a 6-1-0 home record against the Blue Demons, while going 0-5-1 on the road. The Johnnies have won three of the last four meetings dating back to 2021, including three shutout victories at Belson Stadium. In the most recent matchup, St. John's blanked DePaul, 2-0, on Oct. 25, 2025, behind first-half goals from Molly McGlame and Mia Agresti. McGlame opened the scoring in the ninth minute before Agresti netted her first collegiate goal in the 25th minute to secure the victory in Queens.
DePaul was selected to finish 10th in the BIG EAST Preseason Coaches' Poll after returning 16 letterwinners, including two starters, from last season's squad. The Blue Demons also welcomed 12 newcomers to the program.
The Blue Demons (4-6-6, 1-4-3 BIG EAST) enter Saturday's contest on a two-game skid, most recently falling to Villanova on the road, 3-0. DePaul is led by Katelyn Haiser, who has accumulated five goals and two assists for 12 points this year. Hillery Mason has anchored the defense, starting all 15 games in net with five shutouts, a 1.14 goals-against average and a 0.765 save percentage.
