NYU's Last Chance Invitational
Track and Field Competes at NYU Fast Track Invitational

QUEENS, N.Y. - The St. John's track and field team participated in the NYU Fast Track Invitational Friday at the 168th Street Armory in Manhattan. In seven events, four Red Storm athletes finished in the top-5 while six others took home a top-10 finish.
Maxcine Foster (Westmoreland, Jamaica) finished first in the 200 meter dash, clocking in at a personal best 24.50, which qualifies her for the ECAC Championships. Thalene King (Manchestar, Jamaica) also qualified for the ECAC Championships in the 400 meter dash. She crossed the line in 56.41 seconds to take home second place.
Tarashon Broomes (Fair Lawn, N.J.) also participated in the 400 meters, running her best time this year in 57.39 second for second place. Rakibat Abiola (Staten Island, N.Y.) also took second place in the 800 meters and set a personal record, clocking in at 2:20.27.
Meanwhile, Venisa Clarke (Montego Bay, Jamaica) set a personal best in the long jump, leaping 5.45 meters (17'8 ¾") for sixth. Jasmine Barreto (Staten Island, N.Y.) ran in the 500 meters for the first time this year, crossing the line in 1:16.10 for third.
The Red Storm returns to action next weekend, Saturday March 3 and Sunday March 4 at the Reggie Lewis Center in Boston, Mass.
