Women's Golf Finishes 11th At Waterlefe Invitational

The St. John's women's golf team finished in 11th place at the Waterlefe Invitational. Senior Christin Thomson (London, Ontario, Canada) was the low scorer for the Red Storm over the two day event, hosted by the University of South Florida, March 21-22.
Thomson had her best round of 81 during the first day of the Invitational. She carded a 251 over the two day event and finished tied for 40th in the field of 80.
Sophomore Brittany Lambertson (Northport, N.Y.) came in close behind Thomson for the second consecutive outing. Her low round of 77 was a Red Storm best at the Waterlefe Invitational and she finished with a 258 overall.
Rounding out the five-man roster for the Red Storm were Maggie Steciuk (London, Ontario, Canada), Jaclyn Sanders (Brights Grove, Ontario, Canada) and Katie Lebel (Mooretown, Ontario, Canada). Steciuk carded a 265 while Sanders came in just five strokes behind her with a 270. Lebel concluded the tournament with a 278.
Florida International took the top spot at the Invitational behind the performance of Rebecca Samuelsson. Samuelsson was the individual medalist, carding a eight over-par 224. The University of Central Florida came in second while Louisville and USF tied for third place.
