GREENVILLE, N.C. -
The St. John's men's golf team had its best outing of the spring season when it took second at the Bradford Creek Invitational, hosted by East Carolina. The Red Storm finished with an 879 overall on the par-72, 7,120 yard course.
Sophomore Keegan Bradley (Jackson Hole, Wyo.) continued his dominance on the green and finished in a five-way tie for seventh place. He carded a three-over par 217 over the three round tournament.
Senior Brian McArdle (Huntington, N.Y.) shot a four-over par 217 in his best performance of the spring season. He came in 13th in the field of 80 while sophomore George Zolotas (Peabody, Mass.) placed 18th to round out the top 20 finishers for the Red Storm.
Rookies Kevin Velardo (Wilmington, Mass.) and Casey Calmi (Douglaston Manor, N.Y.) were also solid on the green. Velardo had a superb first round of three-under par 69 and finished with a 223. Calmi carded a 235.
"We played really well and I'm proud of our effort," said head coach Frank Darby. "Keegan was great and we had a few guys step up but we couldn't get it done in the third round."
The Red Storm will head to the Princeton Invitational March 8-9 for its last spring event before the BIG EAST Championships take place on March 23-23.
