QUEENS, N.Y. - The St. John's men's tennis team finished its home schedule this Sunday against Rutgers on the Courts at St. John's. Recently, senior Morgan Bauer checked in with www.RedStormSports.com to answer some questions about himself, the team and the season so far.
RedStormSports.com: What is your favorite sport to play other than tennis?
Morgan Bauer: I would have to say baseball. I have played since I was a kid and still play in a league during the summer.
RSS: What is it that you love about playing tennis?
MB: I love how it is an individual sport. If I lose, I can only blame myself. Plus, it is just so much fun competing.
RSS: What is your favorite food?
MB: Dannon coffee yogurt.
RSS: What is your favorite movie?
MB: I like so many movies. Off the top of my head I guess I would say Heat, Goodfellas and North by Northwest.
RSS: What is your most memorable moment playing tennis at St. John's?
MB: It definitely was at the end of my freshman year when we beat West Virginia, 4-3, to make the BIG EAST Tournament.
RSS: Why did you decide to stay in New York for college?
MB: I decided to stay in New York because it's home and there is just so much to do here.
RSS: What is your favorite thing about living in New York?
MB: New York is different than anywhere else. I like the fact that everything I need is walking distance.
RSS: What is your least favorite thing about living in New York?
MB: There is a lot of traffic and can be expensive.
RSS: What is your favorite place to eat around campus and why?
MB: Acquista's. It's good Italian food at a reasonable price.
RSS: If you could play tennis against anyone, who would it be and why?
MB: It would have to be Roger Federer because he is the best player I have ever seen.
RSS: If you could ask him one question, what would it be?
MB: What in your mind makes you so much better than anyone else?
RSS: If you were given a free round-trip ticket to anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?
MB: Rome. There is so much history there and such good food.
RSS: In one word, how would your teammates describe you?
MB: Goofy.
RSS: In one word, how would your teammates describe you?
MB: Entertaining.
RSS: Who on the team makes you laugh the most?
MB: This year it would have to be Sasha. You just have no idea what he is going to say next.
RSS: What would you like to do after graduation?
MB: Well I received an offer to work with the U.S. Marshals, so I'll probably do that. But I may decide to go to law school. I'm not sure yet.
