Amy Kvilhaug To Host Fall Hitting And Pitching Clinic
9/21/2006 12:00:00 AM | Softball
St. John???s softball head coach Amy Kvilhaug, along with assistant coaches Paige Smith and Laura Taylor, will host a fall hitting and pitching clinic on Oct. 14, for girls ranging from 10 years old to seniors in high school. The hitting clinic will begin at 9:30 a.m., and will be followed by the pitching clinic at 12 p.m. The two clinics are separate sessions to accommodate those interested in concentrating in one area.
The main goal of the hitting clinic is to improve general skills in the art of batting and to create a competitive and fundamentally sound player. The coaches on hand will provide drills for the girls to take home with them so they may continue to improve their hitting.
During the pitching clinic, the attendees will be educated about the fundamentals of solid pitching and be taught several different pitches. Again, drills will be provided so that players may take the lessons home with them and continue their work.
Players should bring their own cleats, sneakers, bats and gloves. Please note that lunch will not be served in between sessions.
Both sessions are two hours long and will take place at Red Storm Field. In case of inclement weather, the clinics will be moved inside to Carnesecca Arena. Each session is $75, which must be paid in full. Checks can be made out to Amy Kvilhaug. Players must register by Oct. 11.
