Red Storm Looks To Continue Win Streak At Home

QUEENS, N.Y. - After a mid-week road contest in nearby New Jersey, the Red Storm returns home for just its second contest at Carnesecca Arena this season when it hosts Boston University on Saturday at 2 p.m.
• The game will feature live streaming video and audio by purchasing StormTracker All-Access on www.REDSTORMSPORTS.com. There will also be live stats featured on the website as well and those can be accessed for free.
• St. John's will be looking to extend its two-game win streak while improving its overall slate of 4-1 on the season. The Red Storm is coming off a 71-48 defeat over Monmouth on Wednesday.
• This contest between St. John's and Boston University is the 14th meeting between the teams. The Red Storm holds the edge in the all-time series, 10-3. The Terriers came out victorious in the last meeting, winning 83-64 on Dec. 17, 2006, in Boston, Mass. The series started between the teams in 1979, with St. John's winning the inaugural game, 72-56, on Feb. 3. The teams met regularly throughout the 1980's, but then went 17 years without facing each other.
70 Points Secures a Win • There seems to be a theme early in the season for the Red Storm. When St. John's scores 70 points or more, it has won three of its five games on the season. St. John's has scored 72 points against Army, 74 points against Dartmouth and 71 against Monmouth. If the Red Storm scores between 60-69 points, it has posted a record of 1-1.
Scouting BU • Boston is coming off of a big win over in-state rival Massachusetts on Wednesday, 72-60. The win improved the team's record to 5-2 on the season and also marks the Terriers' third victory in their last four outings. BU's offense has been strong this season, hitting 44.2 percent from the field. The team is also making the most of its trips to the charity stripe with an 84.2 average.
• Junior Jesyka Burks-Wiley posted a double-double (20 points, 10 rebounds) against the Minutewomen on Wednesday and junior Amarachi Umez-Eronini's added 19 points in the win.
• The Terriers have three players averaging double figures in scoring. Burks-Wiley is pacing the way with 14.2 points per game and senior Kasey Devine is averaging 12.3 while Cheri Raffo is putting up 11.3 per contest.
Four Of First Five On The Road • St. John's game against BU marks the end of a grueling schedule for the Red Storm. The team has played four of its first five contests away from Queens, which is the most since 2004-05 when the Red Storm opened with its first eight games away from Carnesecca Arena.
Not Home For Long • The longest homestand for the Red Storm this season is two games. St. John's never has the comfort of Carnesecca Arena for more than two-straight games four times this season.
Wright Looks To Move Up Record Book • Kia Wright became the 15th player in Red Storm history to score 1,000 points and finished up her junior season ranked 10th all-time with 1,181 points at St. John's. On Deck • The Massachusetts theme will continue for St. John's as it welcomes UMass on Dec. 4 at 7 p.m. The Red Storm has the 7-3 edge over the Minutewomen, but has lost the last two meetings.
