Red Storm Softball Falls To Fairfield

The St. John???s softball team dropped a road game at Fairfield on Wednesday afternoon, 12-5. Rookie Ona Halladay led the team with three RBI, posting her first career multi-RBI game. The Red Storm falls to 16-32 on the season.
St. John???s got on the board early as Danielle Estrada was plated by Halladay in the second inning. Senior third baseman Loren Anguiano started the top of the third inning off with her ninth home run of the season, a solo shot to left-center field. The Red Storm kept the runs coming as Halladay drove in two more with a single to center field and Roxann Struble scored on a fielder???s choice.
Fairfield used a 10-run fifth inning to charge back into the game. The Stags started the frame out with a solo home run and when all was said and done, Fairfield had an 11-5 lead. Fairfield tacked on one more in the sixth inning and went on to take a 12-5 victory.
Halladay finished the day 1-for-3 at the plate with three RBI while Struble and Brandy Reyes went 2-for-4. Estrada scored two runs for the Red Storm.
St. John???s will be back in action tomorrow, Thursday, April 26, when the team travels to Villanova for a BIG EAST conference doubleheader beginning at 3 p.m.
