Kia Wright One Of 19 Players Making The Buzz

QUEENS, N.Y. - St. John's women's basketball player Kia Wright is one of 19 players who is "Making the Buzz" on the Web site, www.pointguard.org. The site is the home of the Nancy Lieberman Award, which is a national project of the Rotary Club of Detroit that honors the women's basketball point guard of the year.
The senior bounced back from an injury that sidelined her at the start of the season and is now second on the team in scoring with 11.7 points per game. She has recorded eight double-digit scoring games, scored her 1,300th career point and passed the 400-career assist plateau. She is ranked first in the BIG EAST with a 94.5 free throw percentage and is also third nationally. Additionally, Wright not only leads the Red Storm in assists, but she is second in the league with a 4.69 assists per game average.
