Cincinnati, Ohio - The BIG EAST Women's Golf Championship began Sunday at Elks Run Golf Club. St. John's is currently in fifth place overall with a score of 27-over, 315. St. John's trails Notre Dame (eight-over), defending champion Louisville (14-over), host Cincinnati (18-over) and Georgetown (20-over).
The Red Storm is led by senior Brittany Lambertson who carded a 2-over 74. Lambertson is currently tied for second place.
Sophomore Ashley Szewczuk checked in with a 9-over 79 and is tied for 19th overall.
Play will resume tomorrow morning with the second round. The third and final round will be held on Tuesday.
