2008 Red Storm Baseball Draftees Make Debuts

QUEENS, N.Y. - Pitchers Scott Barnes, George Brown, Justin Gutsie, Colin Lynch and Jared Yecker, the 2008 Red Storm draftees, have all signed and made their professional debuts with their respective teams.
Barnes, drafted by the San Francisco Giants, is playing for the AZL Giants in the Rookie Arizona League. The lefty has made three appearances and is 0-1 with a 3.38 ERA. Barnes has 11 strikeouts in 5.1 innings of work and is allowing just a .167 opponent batting average.
Brown, a selection of the St. Louis Cardinals, is pitching for the Batavia Muckdogs in the Class-A Short Season New York Penn League. The lefty has made eight appearances, including two starts. Brown has a 3.68 ERA, one save and has 13 strikeouts in 14.2 innings of work.
Drafted by the Texas Rangers, Gutsie is playing in the Class-A Short Season Northwest League for the Spokane Indians. Gutsie has made three appearances and is 1-0. The righty has a 0.00 ERA and has struck out six batters in 3.2 innings of work.
Lynch, drafted by the San Diego Padres, is playing with the AZL Padres in the Rookie Arizona League. The reliever has made eight appearances and has four saves. Lynch has a 2.25 ERA and has nine strikeouts in 8.0 innings.
Yecker, a draft pick of the Florida Marlins, is playing in the Class-A Short Season New York Penn League for the Jamestown Jammers. Yecker has seen action in four games and is 1-0 with one save. The righty has a 0.00 ERA and has nine strikeouts in 4.2 innings pitched.
