St. John's shot a season-high 61.5 percent (8-of-13) from beyond the arc. The eight 3's were also a season-high.
The Red Storm had a +10 (43-33) advantage in the battle of the boards. It is the first time this season that St. John's has lost the game when outrebounding the opponent.
After tying the game at 23-23 with 4:34 left in the first half, St. John's went on a 14-2 run over the next 3:24. The rally was keyed by two Paris Horne 3's and a 3-pointer from Quincy Roberts.
Sophomore Sean Evans posted his fourth-career double-double with a 12-point, 11-rebound effort. Evans has scored in double figures in nine contests this season.
For the sixth time this season, Horne led the team in scoring. The sophomore scored 20 points on 6-of-10 shooting, including 4-of-7 from long range. Horne has reached the 20-point plateau in two of the past three games.
Horne also tied his career-high with six rebounds and four 3-pointers.
Sophomore Justin Burrell reached double figures for the second-straight game after pouring in 15 points.
Burrell was also 1-of-2 from long range. The sophomore is 6-of-14 from long range on the season and has made 4-of-8 3's since donning a protective face mask.
