NEW YORK -
- St. John's shot 52.9 percent (27-for-51) from the field, including 57.1 percent in the first half. It was the second highest shooting percentage of the season for St. John's (54.2 percent vs. Cornell on Nov. 17). The Scarlet Knights had been holding the opposition to 41.3 percent shooting coming into the game.
- The Red Storm outrebounded the opposition for the 12th time this season. St. John's held a +14 (37-23) advantage. Rutgers averaged 37.5 rebounds entering the game.
- Sophomore Paris Horne poured in a career-high 27 points on 12-of-13 shooting from the floor. Horne connected on his first eight shots of the game and had 18 points in the first half.
- Horne has reached 20 points in three of past four games.
- The 27 points were the most scored by a St. John's player since Anthony Mason Jr. dropped 29 points against Louisville on Jan. 26, 2008.
- Horne's 12-of-13 shooting performance (92.3 percent) is the third-highest shooting percentage all-time by a St. John's player in a BIG EAST contest.
- Sophomore Sean Evans finished with 11 points, all in the second half. Evans has reached double-figures in the last two games.
- D.J. Kennedy reached double-figures for the 13th time this season with 16 points. Kennedy made a career-high 10 free throws, while adding seven boards and six assists.
