Women's Tennis Swept By Princeton, 7-0

PRINCETON, N.J. - The St. John's women's tennis team fell to Princeton, 7-0, on Friday at the Jadwin Gymnasium on the campus of the Ivy League opponent. With the loss, the Red Storm falls to 1-6 on the season, while the Tigers improve to 6-4.
Princeton won the doubles point with a straight sweep of all three doubles positions and took an early 1-0 lead in the match.
In singles competition, the Tigers earned straight-set victories in all but one position over the Red Storm lineup. At the No. 6 spot, senior Gabija Gasiunaite went to three sets with Princeton's Sarah Huah, but fell 6-7, 6-3, 10-4.
STJ returns to action on Tuesday, Feb. 24, when the squad plays host to Villanova in its first home conference match of the season. First serve is scheduled for 6 p.m. at the Alley Pond Tennis Center.
