QUEENS, N.Y. - Former Red Storm men's golfer Greg Bisconti shot a 3-over 75 in the opening round of the PGA Championship on Thursday at Hazeltine National Golf Club (Chaska, Minn.).
Bisconti, who is currently tied for 94th place, is making his third appearance at the PGA Championship (2006 and 2007). He trails the current leader, Tiger Woods, by eight strokes.
Starting on the back nine, Bisconti bogeyed holes 10 and 13 before converting for par on his next nine holes. His bogey on the par-4 fifth hole was his lone misstep on the front nine.
The '94 alum, a PGA assistant professional at The Saint Andrew's Golf Club (Hastings-on-Hudson, N.Y.), qualified for this year's PGA Championship after tying for 13th place at the PGA National Professional Championship held from June 28-July 1 at Twin Warriors Golf Club (Santa Ana Pueblo, N.M.).
