QUEENS, N.Y. - Red Storm alum Greg Bisconti carded a 6-over 78 in Saturday’s third round of the PGA Championship at Hazeltine National Golf Club (Chaska, Minn.).
Bisconti is tied for 75th at 9-over 225 for the tournament. Tiger Woods leads the field at 8-under 208.
Saturday marked the first time Bisconti has played on Day 3 of the PGA Championship. The ’94 alum missed the cut in his two previous appearances at the major tournament (2006, 2007). Bisconti, a PGA assistant professional at The Saint Andrew’s Golf Club (Hastings-on-Hudson, N.Y.), and Grant Sturgeon were the only two club pros to advance past the cut.
Bisconti shot a 2-over 38 through the first nine holes with birdies on holes 5 and 8. He struggled to a 4-over 40 on the back nine with just one birdie (No. 15).
