Lade Repeats As BIG EAST Defensive Player Of The Week

QUEENS, N.Y. - After helping the St. John's men's soccer team extend its unbeaten streak to four games with a pair of shutout victories, defender Connor Lade was named the BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week for the second-consecutive week. Lade is the first player this season to earn BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week honors twice.
Lade and the defensive unit allowed a total of just two shots on goal in a pair of 1-0 wins at Rutgers and at DePaul. After limiting Rutgers to only two shots on goal, the defense held DePaul to zero shots on goal. St. John's allowed just 13 total shots in the 2-0-0 week.
St. John's (8-5-2, 2-3-2) remains ranked among the top offensive teams in the BIG EAST, coming in at fifth in both goals (22) and assists (21). Defensively, the Red Storm ranks tied for third with eight shutouts and checks in at sixth with a 0.84 goals against average.
Pablo Battuto Punyed is tied for 10th in goals (5), while Tadeu Terra is tied for eighth in assists (5). Rafael Diaz, meanwhile, is tied for fourth in shutouts (6), ranks fifth in save percentage (.842) and sixth in goals against average (0.80). In conference games only, Diaz is tied for second in shutouts (4) and ranks third in goals against average (0.66) and fourth in save percentage (.865).
St. John's also ranks third in the conference in average home attendance (1,380).
