Red Squad Takes Game Two, 7-4, To Even IWS

QUEENS, N.Y. - The red squad evened the Red-Gray Intrasquad World Series at one game apiece with a 7-4 game two triumph. Sean Hagan allowed just one run in 4.0 innings of work, and Adam Davis had six strikeouts and allowed three runs, two earned, in 5.0 innings of relief to lead the red team.
The red team took a 2-0 lead in the top of the second inning on RBI singles from Paul Karmas and Matt O'Herron.
A Joe Panik RBI single pushed the lead to 3-0 in the top of the third inning before Frank Schwindel gave the red team a 5-0 lead with a two-run home run in the fourth inning.
After Robert Case put the gray squad on the board with an RBI double in the bottom of the fourth inning to make it a 5-1 game, the red team answered with two runs in the top of the fifth to go up 7-1.
Kevin Grove launched a three-run home run to straightaway center field in the bottom of the seventh to get the gray team to within 7-4.
Schwindel had two RBI, while Panik, Karmas, O'Herron and Scott Ferrara added an RBI apiece to lead the red team.
Jacob Woodward tossed 5.0 innings of two-run ball had four strikeouts in relief for the gray team.
The teams take to the field at 3 p.m. on Oct. 29 for a decisive game three.
