QUEENS, N.Y. - St. John's junior Priscilla Frederick is preparing to take the stage at the 2010 Indoor NCAA Championships at the University of Arkansas' Randal Tyson Track Center. She will compete in the high jump event on Friday afternoon at 2:45 p.m.
Frederick is currently tied for 13th in the country in the high jump for her season-best height of 1.82 meters (5 feet 11.5 inches). She reached that height back at the New Balance Invitational (2/6/10), as it ties for her career-best jump and currently stands as the St. John's school record.
The Sicklerville, N.J., native is no stranger to national competition. Friday's meet marks Frederick's fourth appearance in an NCAA Championship meet after competing in both the Indoor and Outdoor Championships last year, and the 2008 Outdoor Championships during her freshman year. Frederick finished 14th at the 2009 Indoor Championships with a jump of 1.75 meters.
Frederick enters the event after coming in first place last week at the ECAC Championships in the high jump. She cleared 1.77 meters on her first attempt to finish ahead of UConn's Carin Knight.
