St. John’s Track & Field Collects USTFCCCA All-Academic Awards

The team and eight student-athletes recognized for athletic and academic excellence
QUEENS, N.Y. – The United States Track and Field Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCA) announced its All-Academic Team and individual awards on Monday. The St. John's Track & Field team and eight student-athletes were recognized for their performance on the track and in the classroom.
This is the first time since 2019-2020 the team has been honored in back-to-back years, after Director of Track & Field Aliann Pompey's squad picked up the team honor last year.
This year, the team achieved a GPA of 3.53, ranking within the top 100 of NCAA Division I institutions.
Jamora Alves, Naiara Garica-Moreno, Nora Haugen, Nyla Henderson, Linn Hertz Saebbo, Cassandra Lemus-Sodji, Leilani Robinson and Fia Viklund were named All-Academic Athletes. This is the second time that Alves and Haugen have been named to the honor.
To qualify, teams must post above a cumulative 3.00 GPA and student-athletes must achieve a 3.25 GPA or higher, while also placing within the top 96 of a championship event during the indoor, the top 48 of a championship event during the outdoor season or both.
