QUEENS, N.Y. - Freshman Alex Lagodich was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll, as announced by the league office today. Starting against Hofstra and Penn State, the midfielder scored one goal on Tuesday against the Pride and a career-high four goals on Saturday at Penn State.
A native of Wilbraham, Mass., Lagodich currently ranks second on the team with ten goals. His four goals against Penn State not only marked his personal career high, but also the most that a Red Storm player has scored in a game this year.
Lagodich is the third Red Storm player to be honored by the BIG EAST this season. Sophomore Harry Kutner garnered the honors after his hat trick in the season-opener against Holy Cross (2/20), while senior Garrett Mitchell was named to the list the next week against Air Force (2/28).
St. John's will faceoff against Rutgers on Saturday, April 3 at 3 p.m. The game will be televised on Verizon FiOS1.
