QUEENS, N.Y. - St. John's opens the heart of the BIG EAST schedule with a game at Rutgers on Saturday, April 3 at 3 p.m. The game, originally scheduled to be played at Yurcak Field, has been moved to the Rutgers Field Turf as a result of field conditions. The game will be televised on Verizon FiOS1 via tape delay. Ralph Bednarczyk and Matt Bocklet will call the contest.
St. John's (3-5, 0-1) comes into Saturday's game after losing 13-11 to Penn State on Saturday. Rutgers (5-2, 1-0) enters the game after defeating Notre Dame, 10-8, in the team's BIG EAST opener on Saturday.
Saturday's game will be the second BIG EAST game of the season for St. John's. The Red Storm squared off against Georgetown in the inaugural conference game back in March.

The Series
Rutgers leads the all-time series with St. John's, 16-1. The Scarlet Knights won last year's matchup 14-10. Drew Schanen had a career day, scoring five goals for the Red Storm, but Rutgers was able to pull away in the second half to secure the victory.
Last Time Out
St. John's fell 13-11 to Penn State on the road last Saturday. Freshman Alex Lagodich had a career day, scoring four goals to lead the team. Despite trailing the entire game, Penn State was able to score six goals in the fourth quarter to rally back and take a lead with just minutes remaining. St. John's had a chance in the final minute after Harry Kutner cut the deficit to 13-11 and St. John's won the faceoff, but the Penn State defense stiffened and blocked several shots to end the game.
Senior Garrett Mitchell scored his eleventh goal of the season before half to extend his consecutive goal-scoring streak to eight games.
Lagodich Tabbed For BIG EAST
Honor Roll Freshman Alex Lagodich was tabbed for the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll (3/29) for his performance against Penn State. Lagodich scored a career-best four goals and also won his only faceoff attempt of the game. The freshman's goal tally marked the most that any Red Storm player had scored in one game this season.
The award marked the first time that Lagodich has been named to a weekly conference honor and the third time that St. John's has been represented on the BIG EAST Honor Roll this season. Mitchell was selected on 3/1 while Kutner earned the award on 2/22.
Scouting the Rutgers Scarlet Knights
Rutgers received votes in both polls this past week after knocking off Notre Dame 10-8 on the road on Saturday.
Senior midfielder Justin Pennington was named as the BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week for his three-goal effort in the win over Notre Dame. Pennington ranks fourth in the BIG EAST in points, averaging 2.86 per game.
Rutgers has been paced by the offensive efforts of Pennington and junior Kory Kelly. Kelly has tallied a team-best 20 points on 16 goals and four assists.
The Scarlet Knights were picked fifth in the preseason BIG EAST Coaches Poll. Pennington was a preseason All-BIG EAST pick. Before joining the BIG EAST, Rutgers was a member of the ECAC lacrosse conference along with St. John's.
